Об альбоме

Посвященный новым возможностям старых машин 8BITPEOPLES на свой юбилейный, 50-й выпуск представляет специальную компиляцию 50-ти музыкантов, поймав захватывающий момент радикального и взрывного развития чиптюн-сцены. Это помогает The Tank, некоммерческое художественное пространство и эпицентр чиптюна в Нью-Йорке и Северной Америке. Компиляция выпущена под наступающий Blip Fest 2006, международной сходке более чем 30-ти исполнителей чиптюна, организованной всеми сторонами. 8BP050 намеревается задокументировать новаторскую сцену, продолжить партнерства и стать самым масштабным событием в истории чиптюна на сегодняшний день.

Юбилейный сборник был выпущен на двух дисках. Из-за нехватки времени и большого объёма проекта 8BP050 было необходимо запросить больше композиций, чтобы точно уложиться в 50 треков и выпустить сборник в срок. В конце концов в общей сложности было получено 70 композиций и каждая из них была просто "огонь". Не желая, чтобы хоть одна из композиций пролетела, оставшиеся 20 треков были размещены в виде бонусного диска, доступного для скачивания.
